LOS ANGELES April 27, 2006-- This Saturday, April 29th, Amp'd Mobile, the first fully integrated mobile entertainment company, will simulcast to its subscribers -- a first ever in the U.S. -- the semi-finals and finals of the four-star Body Glove Surfbout Presented by Adio Footwear. This World Qualifying Series (WQS) contest will be held at Lower Trestles in San Clemente, California. Amp'd will also mobilecast the finals of the Grade 2 Oakley Pro Junior that same day, which features 32 of the top American and International surfers under the age of 20.

"The Body Glove Surfbout has seen many historic surfing performances in its 14-year history," said Aaron Quick, Amp'd Executive Producer of Sports Programming. "But this year we're excited that wireless history is being made on the beach at Trestles, in another of Amp'd Mobile's industry firsts."

Last year, David Weare (ZAF) took the Surfbout title in perfect conditions. This year, 2001 World Champion CJ Hobgood (FL) and his twin brother Damien are scheduled to compete with Rob Machado (CA), Taylor Knox (CA), Tim Curran (CA) and Pat O'Connell (CA). San Clemente heroes, Shane Beschen, Chris Ward, the Gudauskas brothers plus other local and international rising stars will be on-hand to try and claim the $75,000 prize purse.

"Amp'd Mobile's commitment to the Body Glove Surfbout presented by Adio has been absolutely amazing," said Don Meek, president of PRIMEDIA’s Action Sports Group (ASG). "To have this event available live to subscribers on their handsets anywhere in the U.S. is a real step on the road to our digital future. We're stoked to have Amp'd as a partner."

Amp'd is also announcing the introduction of a mobile version of http://wavewatch.com, now available only on Amp'd Mobile phones. The mobile version of WaveWatch offers surfers and ocean enthusiasts easy access to 19 live wave cameras positioned at major surf breaks in the U.S. and Hawaii, daily updated worldwide surf forecasts, tide charts, water temperatures, all made possible via Amp'd's wireless high-speed data network. Amp'd Mobile will be demonstrating WaveWatch at the events this coming Friday and Saturday.

"I'm always on the go," said Sunny Garcia, former WCT World Champion and six time Vans Triple Crown Champion. "So it's pretty cool that I can see live video from surf spots wherever I'm at right on my Amp'd phone."
